BUTTING has had its ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications verified. An inspection audit by the DNV (GL) took place in the company between the 11th and the 14th of February. The auditors reviewed whether BUTTING is complying with the provisions of the Integrated Management System (IMS) and applying them in the day-to-day work. They were able to certify that BUTTING has a well-functioning IMS.
BUTTING’s IMS comprises the areas of quality, environmental protection, occupational health and safety as well as energy, each with a responsible manager. The family owned company has been implementing the requirements of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 und OHSAS 18001 rules since 2006. These rules apply without exception to all areas of the company at the Knesebeck site. The energy management system (EMS) is integrated in the IMS in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001. Its certification is still pending.
The “Handbook on the integrated management system [German: Handbuch zum Integrierten Managementsystem – HIMS] describes the individual procedures. All systems consider the continuous and sustainable optimization of processes their primary goal. Increasing customer satisfaction and improving the environmental and energy footprint are further criteria against which BUTTING is measured. Occupational health and safety takes on an important role. Here the company is striving to maintain working conditions and improve them in line with internationally recognized standards.
The Phase I Audit for ISO 50001 certification is scheduled to take place before the end of this year. The next major audit is planned for the beginning of 2015, including the certification of the energy management in accordance with ISO 50001 and the re-certification of the remaining three processes.
