Corning Cable Systems to provide passive optical solutions for Astanatelecom FTTH pilot

Astanatelecom plans to connect 1,000 single-family units in the growing city of Astana. Corning’s flexible, interchangeable Evolant® Solutions for FTTx Networks help to make SFU deployments easier and faster with preterminated solutions, no-epoxy/no-polish connectors, and Corning’s bend-insensitive ClearCurve® single-mode fibre.

“Corning has a long history of innovation, and we are proud to be part of this ground breaking project,” said Gilbert Chorosz, Corning Cable Systems senior vice president, carrier networks. “Our technology and design expertise help ensure the project will provide state-of-the-art broadband in a seamless, reliable and cost-efficient manner.”

“We're excited to have this opportunity to deploy Corning's top-quality fibre optic solutions for our new network,” said
Abylai Seitzhanov, technical director of Astanatelecom. “This fibre optic network will virtually 'future-proof' these communities, enabling them to access state-of-the-art broadband services.”
