Fully automated identification

On heatresistant S+P GRAPHIPLAST® labels and tags, barcodes ensure efficient stock control and costsaving logistics for the metal industry. This year, S+P will be demonstrating the process of fully automated identification for hot steel parts on their stand 12C71 in hall 12, in cooperation with Logopak Systeme. The selfadhesive GRAPHIPLAST® 7948 material enables the identification of hot steel products up to +400 °C at an early stage in the process. The labels are easy to print with conventional thermal transfer printers - with a direct link to ERP system data bases.

Until now, high temperature identification and the use of barcodes have been difficult to reconcile. Embossed metal signs or lasered metal labels did not meet all the requirements. GRAPHIPLAST® 7948 combines the problemfree handling of selfadhesive labels with a temperature resistance up to 400 °C - unrivalled for this type of product. The material is ideally suited for fully automated identification with labelling machines. Barcodebased identification in the production department is therefore possible - even for really "hot stuff".

GRAPHIPLAST® tags and labels ensure reliable identification for any type of product in the metal industry - from raw material to the finished product. Even under tough everyday conditions including the impact of the weather during outdoor storage and extreme temperature variations during transport, the identification with S+P labels and tags enables efficient stock control and logistics.

S+P data carriers can be processed with all common printing systems such as thermal transfer, laser or dot matrix printers. At the exhibition, S+P Samson GmbH will also be showing complete solutions on the basis of existing applications. This includes S+P label printing that is directly controlled from the SAP/ERP system - as currently used successfully by industry leaders such as ThyssenKrupp, ArcelorMittal and Gerdau.
