ADONES consists of 1,800 kilometers of fiber-optic submarine cable, providing a backbone network for mobile traffic as well as broadband services covering the majority of Angola's population. The network complements existing satellite and terrestrial networks, and the new nationwide terrestrial fiber network which ties into all of the landing stations. Ericsson was previously awarded the system provision, consisting of the installation of a tailor-made, steel-wire-armored fiber-optic cable along Angola's entire coastline, as well as DWDM terminal equipment. ADONES will make reliable telecommunications services available to about 70 percent of Angolans, most of whom live in cities, such as the capital Luanda, that are close to the sea.

WFN Strategies is providing repair planning and operational management, including engineering evaluation, negotiation assistance, project management and shipboard supervision. In addition, the company will be performing a study of the marine and terrestrial maintenance, and maintenance planning and setup of the system.
