Special steel products from the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group are in demand in the Republic of China (Taiwan). To give local customers access to the entire product range of their steelworks and strengthen customer service in the region, the steel group has opened a new sales office in Taipei.

SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Taiwan Ltd., which opened in July 2016, now offer in Taiwan the entire sales and services range from a single source. Customers are Asian companies mainly in the automotive, electronics, foods & beverages and in the marine industries.

Asia as a growing market has great potential for the technical steel products manufactured by the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group. Especially the Taiwanese market is well known in the South East Asia region for its industrial maturity. The new sales office of the SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Group is now responsible for the Group's sales and services activities in Taiwan. In the past, business was handled by external selling agents.

The opening of SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Taiwan Ltd. now creates a direct link to the group's own steelworks at Deutsche Edelstahlwerke, Finkl Steel, Steeltec, Swiss Steel and Ugitech. Customers receive technical support from a single source. The focus of the sales activities is on tool steel, stainless steels, as well as bright steel products. There is a high demand in the processing industry and among automotive suppliers, specifically for grades optimized for machining.

Investment in the new location is part of the Group’s strategy to increase its global presence and to position the Group more prominently as a leading edge special steel producer. Herman Wang is Managing Director and responsible for the activities of SCHMOLZ + BICKENBACH Taiwan. A native of Taiwan, he is a familiar figure in the local special steel business and has already held responsible positions at the local subsidiaries of SSAB and Kuhn Special Steel.
