Apple device owners can use the app anytime and anywhere to read the desired documents. In addition, the corresponding web pages of Building Technologies are being optimized for other mobile devices to facilitate document access for all customers.
The Download Center (DLC) of the Siemens Building Technologies (BT) Division offers its customers easy access to more than 9,000 documents, including technical documentation, datasheets and installation instructions as well as brochures, reference material and other information. Different methods are available to locate the desired documents as quickly as possible, such as category search and the classic search function that supports keyword and full-text search. Many planners, installers and other interested parties use the Download Center regularly. Every month, more than 20,000 documents are downloaded from the DLC.
To make it even easier for customers to access this wealth of information, Building Technologies has created an application for Apple iPhone and iPad devices. The app offers the same features as the DLC. Customers not only benefit from user-friendly operation but also have access to the most up-to-date documents. The environment benefits as well because thousands of product documents, installation instructions, and brochures don't need to be printed. Users can save documents on their device for offline use.
The Siemens app for the BT Download-Center is free of charge; it is available now in the App Store under the name "Siemens Building Technologies Download Center."
Mobile access from other devices
BT is optimizing its web pages to make access to the Download Center easier for smartphones using Android, Windows 7 and other operating systems. Special attention is being paid to make sure that the extensive features of the Download Center are available on small mobile device screens and that customers are able to access the complete scope of functionality.
