Representatives from Tenova LOI Thermprocess and Ansteel Group attended the Annealing and Coating Line (ACL) contract signing ceremony during the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE). The event, organized by Ansteel, took place at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai. Tenova LOI Thermprocess is a leading provider of industrial furnace systems for the heat treatment and melting of metals and is part of Tenova, a provider of sustainable solutions for the green transition in the metals industry.
After a joint speech entitled “Sustainability - Ready to Go”, the two parties signed the contract for the annealing furnace, which Tenova LOI Thermprocess will supply as the core of the system. This is another milestone in the long-term collaboration between the Tenova LOI Thermprocess Group and the Ansteel Group.
The delivery, made by Tenova LOI Thermprocess together with Tenova Technologies Tianjin, is part of Ansteel Group's new project aimed at producing electrical sheet for electric vehicles and will represent the first production line of its kind in Northeast China.
“It was a great honor for us to take part in the Ansteel Group ceremony in Shanghai. This underlines our long-standing collaboration with Ansteel. We are proud to participate in green steel initiatives like these and help drive the green energy transition,” explains Christian Schrade, Managing Director of Tenova LOI Thermprocess.
Technical details
Tenova LOI Thermprocess' ACL for non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steel is specifically designed for high annealing temperatures, high H2 content in the process gas and high belt speed. Advanced cooling systems guarantee low cooling rates and the most even cooling possible across the entire range, which is crucial for high-quality NGO electrical sheet, especially for electric vehicles (EV). The operation of the furnace sections under different process gas combinations is possible thanks to a modern concept of process gas separation. The integrated mathematical models of Tenova LOI Thermprocess meet the high requirements for accuracy and stability of strip annealing.
Upon completion of this complex project, Ansteel will be able to meet the demand for high quality electrical steel needed for the production of electric vehicles with this new production line. With this investment, Ansteel becomes a global player in the field of sustainable steel and is pursuing its path towards a new, environmentally friendly industry.
