The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) approved funding for the „Pomeranian Green Hydrogen Cluster“ project at the beginning of November. The aim of the project is to develop the potential for green hydrogen production in West Pomerania and connect it to the hydrogen networks in Poland and Germany.
Sevivon and Gascade drive forward the expansion of hydrogen infrastructure
Sevivon, a subsidiary of PNE AG, is planning to build wind and solar farms in Western Pomerania to produce renewable hydrogen and distribute it via hydrogen pipelines in Poland and Germany. In cooperation with the Polish network operator Gas-System, Gascade will examine how the planned Polish hydrogen network can be connected to the German project „Flow - making hydrogen happen“; a feasibility study on this is being funded by the EU as part of the „Connecting Europe Facility – CEF“.
Future project Flow - making hydrogen happen
Gascade's German hydrogen project „Flow - making hydrogen happen“ aims to create an extensive pipeline network from the Baltic Sea coast to Baden-Württemberg and include connections to Poland and the Czech Republic. The plan is to convert existing natural gas pipelines for hydrogen transport and put the first sections into operation as early as 2025 in order to make the European hydrogen market more accessible for industry.
