The entrepreneur from Turin, who was elected in November 2023, receives the baton from Marcus Horn, of Germany's Paul Horn GmbH.
The presidency of ECTA, the European cutting tools association, is Italian and will be headed for the next four years by Federico Costa, managing director of FEBAMETAL Spa (Grugliasco TO), a company associated with UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE and specialised in the production and marketing of standard and special tools. The entrepreneur from Turin, who was elected in November 2023, receives the baton from Marcus Horn, of Germany's Paul Horn GmbH.
Federico Costa said, 'European tool companies today find themselves operating in an environment of international geopolitical uncertainty. Added to this is the complexity introduced by new regulatory requirements imposed by the European Union, which certainly represents a challenge for our companies. ECTA's commitment for the coming years will therefore be to provide companies with food for thought and insight, as well as opportunities for comparison, to better orient themselves in this scenario. The annual meetings and events, which traditionally accompany ECTA's activities, will focus precisely on the topics of greatest interest for European operators in this sector".
"As president of ECTA," added Federico Costa, "I will work to enhance the image of the European cutting tool industry by proposing initiatives that can also help to strengthen its position on the international scene in a lasting way. After participating in the next world conference on cutting tools, to be held this year in Osaka, the association will be engaged in organising, with the support of UCIMU, the ECTA Conference to be held in Italy in 2025."
Alfredo Mariotti, general manager of UCIMU SISTEMI PER PRODURRE said: "UCIMU is proud that the presidency of ECTA returns to an Italian entrepreneur. We are sure that Federico Costa, general manager of our historical associate FEBAMETAL, will be able to interpret this role in the best possible way, demonstrating the ability, which has always distinguished Italian manufacturers, to intercept and interpret the evolution of the market. We wish him all the best and confirm our commitment to support ECTA in the organisation of the next ECTA Conference, scheduled to take place in Italy in 2025".
