The investment underscores the Chinese steel producer's commitment to the continuous integration of advanced technology. The joint project follows a successful previous prefabricated block installation at the Chinese steel producer with Kocks a few years ago.
Long-term collaboration
Chengde Jianlong already integrated a Kocks RSB® 370++/4 in the 5.0 design and its 3-roll technology as part of a rolling mill modernization in 2017 and was able to significantly increase both product quality and output. For the current greenfield project, Chengde is now also relying on Kocks' proven portfolio for the production of high-quality special steels.
Chengde Jianlong Iron & Steel is a leading Chinese steel producer based in Chengde and part of the Jianlong Group. The company is known for its extensive production of high-quality steel and its important role in China's steel industry.
The RSB® 500++/4 in StarDrive design has now been successfully put into operation in the newly built 1,000,000 t/a rolling mill for larger dimensions. Immediately after rolling the first bar, the four-stand finishing block started continuous production. The RSB® 500++ rolls high-quality, straight bars with a diameter of 60 - 160 mm onto the cooling bed.
The reducing and sizing block was delivered in the advanced RSB® design. Another part of the Kocks scope of delivery is the remote adjustment for stands and guides, which enables the operating parameters to be adjusted from the control center. The roll workshop was equipped with the BAMICON Octopus software and associated hardware.
The package supports the specialists in the roll workshop with the entire set-up of the roll stands, including guides.
