The MULTI/JOINT® 3000 Plus product range has proven to be a fast, safe and easy-to-install solution for water and gas pipes that does not require any special tools. GF Piping Systems has now extended the flexibility of the system with new dimensions up to DN1025.
Efficient solutions for maintenance and repair are required to minimise water loss. With the additional dimensions DN900, DN925, DN1000 and DN1025 for water pipes, the company now offers utilities and installers additional solutions. These innovations also include fittings such as couplings, adapters and reducers.
Like the rest of the product family, they have a patented sealing and retaining system that is suitable for a wide range of materials and outside diameters. The fittings are connected without special tools using easily accessible screws, meaning that installers no longer need to carry out time-consuming processes such as welding or flanging.
This simplifies and speeds up installation processes. In addition, the fittings allow an angulation of
+/- 8° per socket side (up to 16° for a coupling), which increases flexibility. Thanks to a corrosion-free Resicoat® epoxy powder coating, the products have a life expectancy of 50 years.
First installation of a DN1000 solution three metres below sea level
The first MULTI/JOINT® in the DN1000 dimension was recently supplied to the Dutch company Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier, which has already successfully implemented the system. The DN1000 coupling was used to replace an existing sewage pipe. The relocation of the pipe, which was mainly carried out using the horizontal directional drilling method, benefited from the flexible angulation, which enabled seamless transitions.
Rudy Woudenberg, Area Sales Manager/Product Manager Development at GF Waga, ensured the precise installation of the DN1000 product solution and gathered valuable feedback from the site manager. The installation of the DN1000 coupling, which was carried out more than 3 m below sea level, demonstrated the potential of the new MULTI/JOINT® dimensions in special water applications.
"For 30 years, MULTI/JOINT® has had a worldwide reputation as a high-quality solution. By expanding the portfolio, we not only offer the widest range of multi-range restrained couplings - from DN50 to DN1025 - but also respond to the needs of utilities around the world", says Rick van Kesteren, Marketing and Sales Manager/Head of Product Management at GF in Waga (Netherlands), who is pleased with the product launch. "We are convinced that our new MULTI/JOINT® heroes can be a valuable tool in the ongoing fight against water loss, creating connections for life."
