The necessary change in infrastructure presents municipalities and companies with major challenges that need to be solved across all sectors. The supply and disposal company Gelsenwasser is further expanding its strategic partnerships and networks and has acquired a 20% stake in Ing Plus AG.
Henning R. Deters, Gelsenwasser CEO, comments: “The infrastructure business is characterized by high investment requirements in many places on the one hand and an increasing shortage of skilled workers on the employer and service provider side on the other. This applies in particular to wastewater systems in Germany, some of which are in great need of renovation. The use of artificial intelligence can help to close the widening gap here and increase renovation rates.”
New partnership for innovative, AI-supported infrastructure solutions
Gelsenwasser and ING Plus have a wealth of experience and bring innovative technologies together in a targeted manner. The aim is to simplify, plan and implement individual infrastructure processes and support municipalities along the way. In this way, climate adaptation and climate-friendly urban development can be driven forward. For example, product developments are planned in the areas of climate resilience and heavy rainfall prevention.
Ing Plus AG is a relatively young company that focuses on the use of AI in the asset management of critical infrastructure - with the aim of effectively automating associated processes, saving time and costs and further increasing quality. Its expertise lies in traditional civil engineering and municipal infrastructure, particularly in the area of wastewater. The service portfolio is to be expanded to include the water and district heating sectors.
