Funke Kunststoffe GmbH from Hamm (NRW) is one of the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany. This was the result of a study conducted by the German Society for Consumer Studies (DtGV) on behalf of the news magazine “stern”.
A close exchange with users on site and a technical team at the company headquarters in Hamm that is keen to experiment - customers of Funke Kunststoffe GmbH know that this combination has repeatedly produced product improvements and innovations in the past that are optimally tailored to practical applications and construction site processes. Now the company has also received an official seal of approval for its willingness to innovate: the stern Innovation Award 2024.
This award is presented each year to the 500 most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany. The aim is to recognize that they are driving the country forward with their innovations and pioneering developments, thereby securing prosperity and jobs. As one of the recipients of this year's award, Funke Kunststoffe GmbH, Hamm, was able to secure a place in the ranking of the German Society for Consumer Studies in the metal and plastics industry.
Among the top 500 in Germany
As part of the current study, a total of 6,378 German companies with an annual turnover of up to 1 billion euros were examined. The survey is based on the patent as an official certificate and expression of creativity and inventiveness. The survey evaluated how often patents granted in the period from October 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023 were cited in other patents and how often other patents were mentioned in granted patents. DtGV converts the results into a score and assigns each company to one of 30 sectors. With a score of 17.8 points, Funke was ranked 191st among German SMEs, making it one of the top 500 most innovative companies.
