Ukrainian steel pipe producer Interpipe has expanded its INTREPID product line with the new INTREPID-SP HT threaded connection. The solution has been developed specifically for demanding oil and gas applications, with a focus on horizontal wells and shale drilling.
According to Interpipe, the semi-premium connection combines high operational torque with an optimized thread geometry intended to improve structural stability during casing running operations. The connection has completed the required validation phases at an independent testing facility.
Performance was verified under simulated field conditions using the internationally recognized Shale Test Protocol.
Compatible with API Buttress threads
A key feature of INTREPID-SP HT is its full interchangeability with standard API Buttress threads. This allows operators to integrate the connection into existing casing strings without additional accessories or crossover components.
The pin-to-pin design is intended to simplify connection make-up, while the flush internal diameter helps minimize flow turbulence. INTREPID-SP HT can be used in vertical, directional and horizontal wells.
The connection is available for pipe sizes ranging from 114.3 to 339.7 mm (4.5 to 13.375 inches).

Focus on demanding oil and gas applications
Interpipe has developed a range of premium and semi-premium threaded connections for seamless steel pipes used under demanding operating conditions. With INTREPID-SP HT, the company is targeting applications where high torque capacity and reliable casing installation are particularly important.
Interpipe supplies steel pipes and railway products to more than 50 countries through its sales network in Europe, North America and the Middle East. In 2025, the company delivered 470,000 tonnes of pipe products and 89,000 tonnes of railway products.
