Jindal Saw targets Algeria with new steel pipe manufacturing project

Indian steel pipe manufacturer Jindal Saw Ltd. is planning to establish a new steel pipe manufacturing complex in Algeria, marking another step in the company’s international growth strategy and reinforcing its presence in the North African market.

The proposed investment was discussed during meetings with the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), where company representatives explored opportunities for developing a large-scale production facility under Algeria’s investment framework.

According to the proposal, the new plant will manufacture steel pipes in a wide range of diameters and specifications to serve customers in Algeria as well as neighboring regional markets. The facility is expected to support projects in the energy, water transmission and infrastructure sectors while contributing to the development of local industrial supply chains.

For Algeria, the investment is intended to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities and reduce dependence on imported pipe products for strategic industries. For Jindal Saw, the project represents an opportunity to expand its global production network and improve access to rapidly growing infrastructure and energy markets across North Africa.

The planned investment reflects the continuing trend of pipe manufacturers establishing regional production facilities closer to key customers, enabling shorter delivery times, Geratter supply chain resilience and enhanced support for large-scale industrial and pipeline projects.
