A new system for infiltration systems, a stackable infiltration trench filler made of pluggable basic elements from pipe manufacturer Fränkische in Königsberg, Bavaria, is designed to save storage and transport capacities and can be used for all common installation situations in the field of infiltration systems.
The expert in rainwater management is expanding its Rigofill range and, with the ST-S stacking block, is offering a new standard for common installation situations in infiltration systems. „For dealers and construction companies, the advantages lie in the modularity. As the basic elements are only assembled on site, transport can be organised efficiently, tight construction site situations are easy to master and users benefit from simple handling on the construction site“, explains Stefan Weiß, Product Manager in the Drainage Systems division at Fränkische. The layerable basic elements are also designed to enable efficient warehousing for dealers.
Quick and easy handling
Thanks to intelligent palletising, the basic elements can be lifted quickly and easily into the construction pit. The lightweight base elements can be assembled directly on site in just a few simple steps. According to the manufacturer, the infiltration trench infill can be installed in three directions and can be flexibly combined to create systems of any size and complexity. The modular system of identical ‘building blocks’ is designed to allow contractors to adapt to local conditions.
Rigofill ST-S is an economical alternative for common installation situations: Depending on the statically relevant parameters, a cover of approx. 2.30 m and an installation depth of approx. 4 m is possible. The infiltration trench infill can also be installed underground under traffic areas to save space and is suitable for heavy goods traffic (SLW 60).
The solid block has a base area of 800 x 800 mm and a height of 660 mm. The void ratio is 96 percent, meaning that the black infiltration trench filler has a net storage volume of 406 litres. The yellow block connectors are used to secure the position of single and multi-layer systems during installation.
Stacking block with DIBt approval
The ST-S stacking block is certified by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) and carries the combined approval (general technical approval with general type approval), in particular for the area of application of DWA A138 (infiltration systems). The infiltration trench filler made of recyclable PP material has a proven service life of at least 50 years.
Easy maintenance and inspection
According to Fränkische, the black infiltration trenches with a cross-shaped tunnel are completely camera-accessible and can be fully inspected - even when full. Access for inspection and flushing technology to the underground system is made possible by the new QuadroControl ST-S manhole, which can be integrated into the block grid at any point thanks to its modular design.
With the usual generous access cross-section for inspection and flushing equipment, the new shaft is also ideally equipped for in-depth visual inspections as part of construction acceptance tests and future self-monitoring measures. As part of these, the proper installation as well as the stability and functionality of the entire system can be observed and assessed.
