Lalbaba Engineering Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding under the Indian government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme 1.2 for specialty steel, marking the company’s inclusion in a national initiative aimed at strengthening domestic steel production and value chains.
Central to the agreement is a planned cold-finished seamless pipe expansion project at the company’s facility in Haldia, West Bengal, which has been proposed for incentive support under the program. The MoU was signed in New Delhi and covers eligibility for alloy steel and stainless steel long products.
According to the company, participation in the PLI scheme represents a significant step toward advancing India’s domestic seamless pipe manufacturing capabilities while aligning with national industrial priorities focused on local production, technological development and supply-chain resilience.
With the planned expansion, Lalbaba Engineering reinforces its strategic focus on high-value specialty steel and seamless tube production, positioning itself to meet growing demand across India’s industrial and infrastructure sectors.
