Magaldi Power SpA has expanded its presence in the Turkish metal casting market by implementing a comprehensive system for mould transport and casting cooling. The system was installed at the Dirikanlar Otomotiv San. Tic. Ltd. Şti, located in Aksaray, and is an example of the company's ability to develop customised solutions for the specific needs of its customers.
The system installed in Dirikanlar includes Magaldi's Superbelt® conveyor and the Magaldi Casting Cooler (MCC®), which streamlines the entire process from mould transport and casting cooling to degassing and sorting.
Robust technology for high temperatures
The Superbelt® conveyor, which is characterised by its robust design, transports 78 tonnes of moulds per hour and works effectively at temperatures of up to 700 °C. The double wire mesh design ensures continuous operation and free expansion of the components. As a result, the conveyor belt can withstand temperatures of up to 1100 °C without deformation.
Efficient cooling system and improved working conditions
The MCC® cooling system is installed downstream of the shake-out process and effectively lowers the temperature of the castings from 550 °C to 100 °C. This gradual cooling helps to avoid thermal shocks and structural defects in the castings.
The ergonomic design of the conveyor system and the low noise level below 75 dB(A) minimise the risk of injury during the degassing and sorting processes and improve productivity in the workplace. In addition, the low-vibration design results in lower quartz dust emissions and lower maintenance costs.
Since its commissioning in 2024, the Magaldi plant has significantly improved operational efficiency at Dirikanlar, underlining Magaldi's commitment to providing advanced technology solutions in the metal casting sector.
