The HeiDo pipeline between Heiden and Dorsten is intended to secure the gas supply in the Dorsten area. Construction of the 17 km long H2-ready pipeline is planned for 2026
Construction of the 17 km pipeline between Heiden and Dorsten (HeiDo) is scheduled for 2026. It is intended to secure the natural gas supply in the Dorsten area. OGE expects that a large part of the energy requirements of industry and private households will still be covered by natural gas at the start of construction.
Meanwhile, the FNB is relying on a "mix of the tried and tested and the new": in Dorsten, it is already planning the DoHa (Dorsten - Hamborn) and DoMa (Dorsten - Marl) hydrogen pipelines, which are to become part of the nationwide hydrogen network. HeiDo will also be integrated into the hydrogen network in the future. All new FNB pipelines are suitable for transporting hydrogen in the future.
DorstenThis also applies to the adjacent Marbeck-Heiden (MaHei) pipeline, for which the planning approval process is already underway. The network operator is currently seeking the necessary approval for the expansion of its existing network.
Approval expected by the end of 2025
The planning approval procedure (PFV) is the approval procedure under public law for the final route. The Münster district government is responsible for its implementation. It weighs up the construction measures against public and private interests. Public bodies, owners and leaseholders can still raise objections to the project as part of the PFV. To this end, the documents will be published on the Münster district government's website until February 7, 2024.
After a discussion meeting and subsequent consideration by the district government, the construction measures are expected to be approved under public law, the so-called planning approval decision, at the end of 2025. It is comparable to a building permit and also stipulates the necessary compensation measures for interventions in nature and the landscape.
