For more than 30 years, Refratechnik has been reliably supplying its Indian customers in the cement, steel and non-ferrous metal industries with high-quality refractory products, which are sourced from various production sites around the world.
The Refratechnik Group is investing more than €30 million in a logistically strategic location in the eastern part of India, in Andhra Pradesh/Visakhapatnam. The state-of-the-art greenfield factory was built to produce MgO-C refractory products, high-alumina bricks, as well as monolithic products for the steel, cement and non-ferrous metal industries. The plant will employ more than 300 people in the short term and more than 400 people in the long term.
India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It is the second largest steel producer and one of the largest aluminum producers. In order to meet the Indian government's demand of "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (India's self-reliance), to better meet requirements strategically and structurally, to shorten lead times and to be closer to its customers, the company has decided to build the new factory.
By strengthening the Refratechnik Group in India, not only customers in India, but also customers in Southeast Asia and the Middle East will benefit from the high product quality, extensive services and short delivery routes.
