Plus X Award for Uponor pipe system

An international panel of experts with representatives from more than 80 industries assessed the products submitted and awarded the innovation prize seal of approval.

According to the manufacturer, the pre-insulated Ecoflex VIP offers good insulation performance, high flexibility, a small external diameter and a sustainable design that is intended to significantly reduce the carbon footprint. This is made possible by the hybrid construction of the pipes with vacuum insulation panels (VIP). The lambda value of the VIP insulation is just 0.004 W/mK.

Compared to products with an identical outer diameter, heat losses can be reduced by up to 60 per cent in a heating network made with Ecoflex VIP. The hybrid design of the pipes reduces the outer diameter by up to 30 per cent compared to conventional pre-insulated pipes with soft foam. Thanks to its small bending radius, Ecoflex VIP is quick and easy to install.
