KHK Kunststoffhandel Cromm & Seiter GmbH combines a cover made of glass fibre composite material and a frame made of secondary plastic in its FibreEco ground covers. The corrosion-free and lightweight cover is designed to protect access to rainwater cisterns, manholes and other infrastructure in gardening and landscaping.
Sustainable materials also in demand in horticulture
According to the company, sustainability has also become a focal point in landscaping. Around half of the German population has a garden. This involves topics such as „bee-friendly planting or collecting rainwater“ - both in private and public areas.
When using „durable materials“ for the long-term covering of rainwater cisterns and other underground infrastructure, the ecological ground cover represents an alternative to poured concrete, according to the company.
Easy handling and durability
Due to their low weight – „with a clear width of 625 mm, the cover weighs just 9.3 kg“ - the covers are very user-friendly and, according to the manufacturer, can be loaded up to load class A15 in accordance with DIN EN 124 at 1.5 tonnes. The breaking load is 8 tonnes. The cover made of recycled glass fibre composite material is not only lightweight and corrosion-free, but also resistant to moisture.
