Saarstahl Ascoval, a company of the Saarstahl Group based in Saint-Saulve, France, has entered into a long-term partnership with Mannesmann Precision Tubes (Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany) for the supply of semi-finished materials for steel tube applications in the automotive and industrial sectors.
The cooperation also includes close collaboration along the entire supply chain, as well as the development of tailored logistics solutions to ensure efficient delivery to end customers.
“We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with Mannesmann Precision Tubes,” said Daniël Nicolaas van der Hout, Chief Sales Officer of Saarstahl. “This agreement demonstrates that we have successfully positioned ourselves in the market as a pioneer in CO₂-reduced steel.”
Dr. Dennis Stindt, President of Saarstahl Ascoval, emphasized the importance of the contract for the French site and expressed confidence in the future: “In recent years, Saarstahl Ascoval has established itself across Europe as a manufacturer of CO₂-reduced rail steel. However, our steel is also in demand in other industries. Supply agreements such as the one with Mannesmann Precision Tubes enable us to position ourselves securely across multiple sectors. At the same time, they provide the planning reliability needed to further develop our plant for the future.”
In recent years, the Saarstahl Group has made targeted investments in the modernization and expansion of its electric steelmaking infrastructure. As a result, the company is already capable of producing CO₂-reduced steel today. The steel produced by Saarstahl Ascoval is manufactured in an electric arc furnace using scrap steel. Compared to conventional production via the blast furnace–basic oxygen furnace route, this process reduces the CO₂ footprint by up to 70 percent, making it significantly more climate-friendly.
