Searing Industries expands welded tube production with advanced OTO mill technology from Fives

US welded steel tube manufacturer Searing Industries has strengthened its long-standing partnership with engineering group Fives to further modernize and expand its tube production capabilities using advanced OTO mill technologies.

Under newly awarded contracts, Fives will supply a complete OTO tube mill together with innovative entry line systems designed around integrated automation and digital process control. The investment aims to improve manufacturing efficiency, ensure consistently high product quality and support increasingly complex customer requirements with shorter lead times.

The upgraded production concept includes fully automated robotic shears and end welders that increase flexibility in cutting operations while improving machine accessibility and maintenance efficiency. In addition, a newly developed automatic debander adapts to different coil types and plant configurations, streamlining coil handling and material preparation.

The systems are fully integrated with digital technologies and AI-supported modules that optimize production performance and provide operators with real-time operational feedback. The high degree of automation is expected to reduce manual intervention, improve safety and minimize the overall production footprint.

With the new investment, Searing Industries continues to advance its welded steel tube manufacturing capabilities while focusing on intelligent automation and next-generation production technologies.
