Following almost 18 months of in-depth technical consultations and multiple rounds of commercial negotiations, SINOSTEEL Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. has recently signed a contract with the ArcelorMittal Group for a 600,000-ton seamless pipe project in Saudi Arabia. The scope of the contract includes part of the equipment supply as well as the installation of equipment for the entire production line.
The ArcelorMittal Group is one of the world’s leading iron and steel producers, awarding its projects through highly competitive international bidding processes. Through persistent marketing efforts, careful technical planning, and a well-structured commercial strategy, SINOSTEEL succeeded in earning the trust of ArcelorMittal and ultimately secured the contract in a competitive environment.
The project is located at the port of Jubail on the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia and represents a strategic initiative by the ArcelorMittal Group for the petroleum pipeline market in the Middle East. It is also the only new major project undertaken by the group since the international financial crisis. The successful signing of this contract significantly strengthens SINOSTEEL’s long-term cooperation with ArcelorMittal, while also marking the company’s entry into the general contracting market in petroleum-producing countries of the Middle East. With its strong demonstration effect, the project is expected to generate further opportunities and gradually establish a stable market presence in the region.
A dedicated project team has already been established to begin the preparatory phase and ensure a smooth and steady progression of the project.
