At Tube 2026, REA Elektronik presented a comprehensive portfolio of industrial marking solutions designed to ensure reliable traceability across the pipe industry. Under the motto “Traceability Starts with Marking: Identity for Every Tube,” the company demonstrated how modern identification technologies support the increasing requirements associated with the Digital Product Passport.
With the gradual introduction of the Digital Product Passport, pipes made of steel, metal and plastic will be required to carry detailed information about origin, composition and sustainability throughout their entire lifecycle. REA addressed this challenge by showcasing solutions capable of providing durable, machine-readable markings for each individual pipe.
Among the highlights was the REA JET ST SRE-10 electro marking system, which enables large, clearly legible markings with writing heights of up to 206 mm. Its electromagnetic control ensured precise operation even at high production speeds, making it suitable for inline marking in fast pipe manufacturing processes. The system reliably applied material data, batch numbers, logos and 2D codes, including with heat-resistant inks capable of withstanding extreme temperatures.
REA also demonstrated its REA JET UP and REA JET DOD systems, which were used for the precise, mist-free application of lubricants in welded pipe production. Operating at speeds of up to 1,800 m/min, these systems enabled highly efficient and targeted application with minimal material usage.
In addition, REA highlighted automation potential in pipe marking through a case study involving Corinth Pipeworks, showing how manual marking processes can be replaced by automated solutions to improve quality, consistency and working conditions.
For plastic pipe applications, REA introduced a new laser marking system from its REA LASER portfolio, designed for direct integration into extrusion lines and adaptable to a wide range of pipe diameters. Complementing this, the company presented UV-curable inks for high-resolution coding of polyolefin materials such as PE, PP and PA, enabling durable marking of barcodes, logos and product data.
With these technologies, REA demonstrated how advanced marking systems play a key role in enabling traceability, process efficiency and product identification in modern pipe production.
