French hydraulic infrastructure specialist Tubao is strengthening its commitment to sustainable pipe manufacturing by integrating ArcelorMittal’s XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel into its range of galvanized steel pipes.
The initiative forms part of the companies’ long-term collaboration to support the decarbonization of water infrastructure. By using low-carbon steel in the production of galvanized pipes and storage systems, Tubao aims to significantly reduce the environmental footprint of hydraulic projects while maintaining the mechanical strength and corrosion resistance required for demanding applications.
According to the company, the use of XCarb® steel enables a 60 percent reduction in embedded CO₂ emissions compared with conventional galvanized steel pipes. Environmental performance is documented through independently verified FDES/INIES data, providing customers with transparent information for sustainability-driven procurement and infrastructure projects.
Beyond material selection, Tubao is positioning low-carbon pipe solutions as an important contribution to future water management, storage and distribution systems. The company also highlights steel's recyclability at the end of its service life, supporting circular economy principles and long-term resource efficiency.
