Tubos Reunidos Powers India’s Energy Future with High-Performance Seamless Steel Tubes

Spanish seamless steel tube specialist Tubos Reunidos has been selected by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), India’s state-owned power equipment manufacturer, to supply premium seamless steel tubes for high-performance applications.

The contracts, valued at over €26 million, include the production and delivery of seamless tubes with customized diameters and wall thicknesses tailored to the specific requirements of BHEL’s operations. Production is being carried out at Tubos Reunidos’ facilities in Amurrio and Trápaga. The first delivery is already underway, while completion of the second order is scheduled for the second half of the year.

This collaboration comes at a time of strong projected growth in the Indian energy sector. The Indian government has announced plans to expand its installed power generation capacity by 80 gigawatts by 2030 — a 30% increase over the current level. Tubos Reunidos’ contribution will help support the infrastructure needed to meet this ambitious target, reinforcing its role as a global supplier of high-grade, reliable tubing solutions for critical energy applications.
