Vallourec has announced the award of two new line pipe contracts from ExxonMobil Guyana Limited under the long-term agreement signed between the companies in 2021.
The contracts cover the supply of coated line pipe for the Hammerhead and Longtail deepwater projects located in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. In total, the orders comprise more than 145 kilometers of line pipe, representing approximately 40,000 metric tons.
According to Vallourec, around 90 kilometers of the supplied pipes, equivalent to roughly 22,000 metric tons, will feature ExxonMobil’s Proxxima™ coating systems combined with GDLX™ subsea insulation technology. The contracts also include anticorrosion coatings as well as pipes cladded with corrosion-resistant alloy weld overlay.
Vallourec stated that it has become the first commercial licensee of the Proxxima™ coating systems with GDLX™ subsea insulation technology developed by ExxonMobil. To support the deployment of the technology, the company will invest in upgrading its Vallourec Coating Solutions facility in Serra, Espírito Santo, Brazil.
Philippe Guillemot, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Vallourec, said the new contracts further reinforce the company’s strategic partnership with ExxonMobil Guyana Limited. He added that the projects highlight Vallourec’s capability to deliver high value-added tubular solutions, particularly in advanced thermal insulation technologies for deepwater applications.
