The Wuppermann Group is expanding its product portfolio of tubes, profiles and tube components, investing in new production facilities, logistics and sustainability at several locations.
Key projects include the new tube welding line at Wuppermann Metalltechnik GmbH (WMT) in Altmünster, Austria, the roll forming line at Wuppermann Austria GmbH (WA) in Judenburg, a warehouse and logistics hall at Wuppermann Polska sp. z o.o. (WPL) in Małomice, and the highly corrosion-resistant zinc-magnesium product WTopCor.
New Tube Mill in Altmünster Broadens the Product Range
In 2025, Wuppermann commissioned a new tube mill with a fully automated raw material and finished goods warehouse at the Altmünster site. The investment complements the existing tube welding line and enhances the company's technological capabilities and product range in the field of precision tube and special profile tube production.
The new production line enables the manufacture of a significantly expanded range of dimensions: tubes and profiles with cross-sections up to Ø 130 mm and wall thicknesses up to 4.0 mm can now be produced. The inline-integrated rolling process achieves highly precise wall thickness and internal tolerances. Complex and customer-specific geometries with wall thicknesses from 1.0 to 4.0 mm – including special profiles with complex, structurally loadable cross-sections – can also be manufactured on the new tube line.
All tubes and profiles are available with pickled, galvanised or zinc-magnesium-coated surfaces. For applications with particularly high requirements for bending stiffness and torsional strength, high-strength steels such as DP800, DP980 and 22MnB5 are used. The flexibility of the line opens up applications in the automotive and mechanical engineering industries, shopfitting, conveyor technology, structural and plant engineering, and the photovoltaic industry, among others.
Roll Forming Line in Judenburg for Maximum Corrosion Protection
At the Judenburg site, the Wuppermann Group uses a modern roll forming line to manufacture products meeting the highest corrosion protection requirements. The line covers a wide range of dimensions and profile geometries: it processes input material with widths between 100 and 600 mm. Profile production encompasses strip thicknesses from 1.5 to 4.0 mm, profile widths from 25 to 300 mm, profile heights from 20 to 140 mm, and lengths up to 13.5 metres.
With zinc coatings up to 1,300 g/m² (Z1300) or zinc-magnesium coatings up to 1,000 g/m² (ZM1000), the profiles meet the highest corrosion protection requirements – also with an optionally galvanised edge. In addition, steels with tensile strengths up to 1,000 MPa can be processed. An integrated inline strip punching system enables the strip to be punched in a single production step before roll forming. Individual, complex hole patterns can be produced to customer specifications – a particular advantage for photovoltaic applications.
Małomice Site: New Logistics Hall and Photovoltaic System
With the commissioning of a new 3,000 m² warehouse and logistics hall, Wuppermann has completed the largest investment at the Małomice site. Thanks to a covered tunnel connecting the hall to production, loading now takes place in a weather-protected and safer environment, particularly for pickled and galvanised products. A modern storage system further enhances workplace safety. In addition, a 470 kWp photovoltaic system is currently being installed, supporting the Wuppermann Group's sustainability strategy and reducing energy costs.
WTopCor: Zinc-Magnesium Coating for Demanding Environments
With WTopCor, Wuppermann offers a steel strip product with particularly high corrosion protection – optionally with a galvanised longitudinal edge. It is produced on the company's continuous strip galvanising lines using the so-called heat-to-coat process. The special alloy composition – consisting of zinc, approximately 3% magnesium and around 3.3% aluminium – forms a particularly dense and durable protective layer. Typical applications include substructures for photovoltaic systems, silos, road crash barriers and numerous applications in the construction industry.
