Tube 2024 Düsseldorf: Plastic tube & pipe industry sustainably successful
New Plastic Tubes and Pipes Area in Hall 1
Prospects for the plastic tube and pipe industry are favourable because these products are more in demand than ever. Plastic pipes and tubes have been well established in numerous applications such as infrastructure (supply and disposal, communication), residential building technology and in industrial applications for a long time now.
And this sector of industry will be boosted even further by the expansion of high- and highest-voltage lines as well as the booming hydrogen market.
Companies operating in the plastic tube and pipe sector will meet in the new Plastic Tubes and Pipes Area of Hall 1 in Düsseldorf from 15 to 19 April 2024 “so as to jointly shape developments on the market at a very early point in time,” explains Markus Hartmann, Managing Director at Kunststoffrohrverband e.V. - KRV (German Plastic Pipe Association). This will also make Tube 2024 a provider of impulses in the plastic tube & pipe segment.
Heavy rain events and droughts rank very high on the agenda in public debates. By KRV’s accounts, the plastic tube and pipe industry has developed a multitude of applications over the past few years which are already in use, or will soon be. This means the products and innovations of plastic tube and pipe manufacturers contribute to realising so-called “sponge cities”.
“Water management has become a key trend in the past few years and one that will continue to gain in importance,” stresses the German Plastic Pipe Association.
In addition to managing extreme weather events, this also affects the traditional municipal supply of drinking water as well as wastewater disposal. The demand for refurbishment will continue being high.
In demand for the heating transition and glass fibre networks Furthermore, there is growing demand for plastic tubes and pipes in the energy sector – a very wide field of application being protective conduits for high- and highest-voltage lines but also for geothermal applications such as district and local heating. These companies will be supplying the matching tubes and pipes for the heating transition.
One of the fastest growing applications for plastic tubes and pipes is cable protection for the expansion of glass fibre networks. It is plastic protective tubes for broadband cables that protect the networks against damage.
The developments in many industries mean experts forecast that plastic tube and pipe producers will stand a fair chance of tapping into further markets.
Circular economy and green energy However, the industry also focuses on its own resource-saving operations. “This includes the topics ‘Circular Economy’ and ‘Recycling’,” stresses the Kunststoffrohrverband. Used tubes and pipes and their cut offs have already been collected and reclaimed to be used as a recyclate in new tubes and pipes for almost 30 years now.
Likewise, the use of “green energy” has become increasingly important for companies in recent years – as has the use of bio-based materials. Which means this industry is sustainably successful on numerous levels.
15 to 19 April 2024 will see plastic tube and pipe companies present their wide and varied innovations at Tube in the new Plastic Tubes and Pipes Area of Hall 1 at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre.
