The company Jakob Antriebstechnik GmbH located in Kleinwallstadt, Germany revised the elastomer couplings of the series EKM and ESM. The new sizes can now be used for machines with torque ranges up to 2000 Nm.
Elastomer couplings are pluggable, backlash-free, flexible shaft couplings for small to medium torque ranges. The elastomer spider can compensate slight shaft misalignments, is electrically insulating and has good oscillation dampening characteristics.
The range of safety couplings for direct and indirect drives also improved. Couplings of the series SKY and SKW can now reliably protect machines up to 9000 Nm. Safety couplings protect machines from expensive damages, repairs and downtimes. This is possible because of a new shrink disc clamping system and a new cup spring size.
