Hustle and bustle in the trade fair halls and many closed business deals were the upshot of five high-energy trade fair days in Düsseldorf.

More than 2,600 companies informed themselves about the latest machinery, equipment and products from the wire, cable and tube processing industries. A total net exhibition area of 110.900 square metres was occupied across 16 exhibition halls – a new record value posted in Düsseldorf's long success story of wire and Tube.
Global economic upheaval, a worldwide steel crisis, new climate regulations spanning the globe, and a classic industry on its journey into the new Industry 4.0 digital age – that’s the business climate in which the world’s industry-leading trade fairs wire and Tube took place for the 15th time in Düsseldorf from 4 to 8 April 2016!
“Major deals are made in Düsseldorf; wire and Tube serve as the global communication and business platform for industry heavyweights, SMEs and international associations alike”, says an excited Friedrich-Georg Kehrer, Global Portfolio Director for Metals and Flow Technologies.
A combined total of about 69,500 trade visitors from more than 130 countries attended the two events.
SMS group considers Tube and wire Düsseldorf among the most important events worldwide. “Tube and wire distinguish themselves for their really great mix of exhibitors and visitors”, summarises Dr. Guido Kleinschmidt, a member of the SMS group’s management team after five successful trade fair days in Düsseldorf.
“The excellent feedback received at this leading trade fair for our newly introduced automation solutions and complete plants validates our development of efficient production equipment for tubes and long products”, the expert adds.
On over 51,100 square metres of net exhibition space, Tube - the International Tube and Pipe Trade Fair covered the full range of pipe and tube manufacturing, processing, treatment and trade. The spectrum included raw materials, pipes, tubes and accessories, machinery for the production of pipes and tubes, pre-owned machines, as well as tools in process engineering, auxiliary materials, measuring and control engineering and test engineering. Pipelines, OCTG technology, profiles, machines and the Plastic Tube Forum (PTF) supplemented the line-up presented by a total of 1,278 exhibitors from 51 countries.
Promoting the slogan Mannesmann – The Tube, Salzgitter Group presented a diverse product range at Tube 2016, which included anything from precision tubes to large tubes for energy pipelines. “For 130 years, Mannesmann has been synonymous with highest-quality steel tubes. That’s why we aspire to further developing this segment”, summarises Salzgitter AG’s Corporate Communications Director Bernhard Kleinermann.
The strongest exhibitor contingents at Tube also hailed from Italy, the UK, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Turkey and Germany. The greatest shares of overseas exhibitors came from the US, India, South Korea and China.
The No. 1 trade fair in the pipe and tube industry focussed on Tube Accessories in Halls 1 and 2. Tube Trading and Manufacturing took up residence in Halls 2, 3, 4, 7.0 and 7.1.
Tube Bending and Forming Technology was located in Hall 5, while Pipe and Tube Processing could be found in Halls 6 and 7a. The Plant and Machinery segment was presented in Hall 7a. In addition, Halls 1 to 7.0 featured profiles for a wide range of applications. The special show PTF (Plastic Tube Forum) was staged once again in Hall 7.1.
Once again, a vast majority of trade visitors gave excellent reviews of the two leading events wire and Tube. Approximately 69,500 trade visitors from 130 countries came to Düsseldorf over the course of five trade fair days, the majority of them from Germany, Italy, Turkey, France, Poland, and the Netherlands. The share of international trade fair guests was very high at 65%, with about a third travelling from overseas.
German and international trade fair visitors at each of the two trade fairs handed out top marks for what was offered at both events. Some 75% of trade fair visitors were executives with decision-making authority.
Altogether, the willingness to invest at the two leading industry events wire and Tube in Düsseldorf continued to increase. What’s more, 60% of trade fair visitors said they’d found new suppliers.
For what will be the 16th time already, the leading trade fairs wire and Tube will take place again concurrently in Düsseldorf from 16 to 20 April 2018.
