On the basis of a proven machine concept we have constantly developed this series further. Besides cold-heading wire, bearing steel, stainless steel, axle spring steel and other ferrous materials on our single-block drawing machine EH also non-ferrous materials can be processed.
A great advantage are the different capstan sizes. The quick pulling-in of the wire is ensured by a revolving pull-in dog. On request there is a choice between a manual type and a fully automatic solution. The integrated press-on rolls guide the wire torsion-free to the revolving mandrel. An optional double-mandrel increases the plant availability. On capstans with diameters between 500 and 1200mm wire with an inlet diameter between 5.5 and 50.0mm can be drawn.
The series straight-line drawing machine RUBIN has been at first presented to the wire industry by Herborn+Breitenbach during the WIRE show in 1996. This technical solution has been a world innovation with its control system ASB without dancer, with water-cooled drives and a water-cooled converter system.
KIESELSTEIN as the successor of Herborn+Breitenbach presented the advancement of this series at the WIRE show in 2006. The new features such as the self-contained drawing capstan cooling system and the modular exchange device for the drawing-die take up and the lubrication are the highlights of this advancement.
On capstans with diameters between 300 and 1000mm wire with an inlet diameter between 3.0 and 16.0mm can be drawn to finished diameters between 0.6 and 12.0mm.
Wet wire drawing machines are slip drawing machines which are designed for drawing of high-strength steel wire, stainless steel wire and wire of non-ferrous metals.
The desired quality of the wire and a economic lifetime of the drawing tool are reached due to a diameter reduction per draft that is adequate to the tensile strength of the wire as well as a straight guiding of the wire through the drawing dies. The metal abrasive wear settling in front of the drawing die is washed away by the highly intense direct cooling. This separate device allows for a reliable lubrication of the drawing dies and a good heat exhaust from this area.
Wet wire drawing machines are produced in different sizes:
single-chamber wet wire drawing machine with submergedlubrication up to 12 drafts
double-chamber wet wire drawing machine with submergedlubrication up to 25 drafts
fine wire wet drawing machine with spray lubrication up to31 drafts
On these machine types wire with diameters ranging from 0.8 to 0.02mm can be produced at a speed of up to 30 m/s.
