The All New Model 200

Introducing the Model 200 Micro Drawer, RMG’s newest and smallest inline wire drawer.

The Model 200 is another modern machine in RMG's new global line of in-line wire drawers, designed specifically to meet the ever demanding needs of global high technology manufacturers using micro formers and specialty metals. The 200 designation refers to the 10" (254 mm) nominal diameter of the hardened D2 capstan, a vital feature of every RMG inline drawer. We've kept the best and added new innovations, technology and materials where they will increase the utility, efficiency and performance of the inline drawer.

RMG Recoilers

RMG offers Three recoiler models, the REC375, REC625 and REC750, for our customers who want to realize the numerous benefits of drawing and recoiling small quantities of wire at their site without a great investment in specialized equipment.

An integrated drawing line consisting of an RMG inline capstan drawer, a payoff device (turntable) and a powered recoiler lets any manufacturer produce exactly the size and quantity of the wire they need for production, thereby reducing coil inventory, eliminating waste and achieving greater production flexibility. Most of the additional quality benefits of in line wire drawing; better dimensional control, improved surface finish, greater coil-to-coil diameter consistency, etc. are also realized when using an inline drawer/recoiler line.

Straighten & Cut Equipment

Rockford Manufacturing Group produces five RMG Wire Straightening and Cutting Models with low carbon steel wire capability from 0.050" (1.27mm) diameter to 0.500" (12.7mm) diameter at speeds up to 400 fpm (122 mpm). RMG machines are all built to order so reverse or standard frame machines and custom features and lengths can be accommodated within standard lead times. For information about an RMG Straighten and Cut system specifically for your application, contact our one of our RMG Sales Representatives or Sales Engineers.

About us

Company details

RMG is home of the innovative single offset arbor and patented Clutchless RMG straighten and cut machines, the 100 year old Lewis Machine Works and the comprehensive catalogue of Fastener Engineers wire and rod equipment.

We produce the most efficient, reliable and cost effective production Inline Wire Drawing machinery available to support the very foundations of manufacturing; the fastener industries, the wire products industries, the construction industries and the steel wire and rod industries.

Although most of our In Line Wire Drawers are used with steel wire and rod, from .218”  (5.5mm) through 1.75” (45mm) diameter, we design and produce custom built machinery to process a wide variety of base metal and alloyed wires; stainless steel, aluminum, copper alloys (brass, bronze, beryllium, etc.), titanium, silver, lead (solder), tin, nickel alloys (Inconel, Monel, etc.), nickel, etc.

The RMG and Lewis Machine names are synonymous with wire Straightening and Cutting. Our machines can be found in wire product shops in most of the western world. Known for their robustness, many of the Lewis machines built over the last 100 years are still operating. The easy to set up RMG machines are durable too. RMG’s serial number 93101, built in 1993, was recently in our shop for a minor refurbishment and update. We are proud to be providing machines whose life is measured in decades, not merely years.
