Digital High Frequency Sine Wave Spark Tester Series The HF-15B is a compact, digital 3kHz spark tester with a test voltage range of 500v to 15KV rms.
The RC Remote display features large LED lights that are easily seen from a long distance. The RC Display easy can either be mounted on top of the spark tester enclosure or remote mounted up to 200 feet (60 meters) away. The HF-15B spark tester receives and responds to digital commands from a PLC or computer through its RS-485 interface via Modbus RTU. The following communication protocols are available: Analog, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profibus, PROFINET, DeviceNET
Test parameters are easily programmed on the front panel or through the RS-485 port. Wiring is done externally, and form C relay contacts on the rear panel can be connected to alarms or lights that activate when a fault is detected.
Spark test calibrators are essential for checking and maintaining spark test equipment accuracy. Clinton offers the STCAL Modular Calibration System and the optional SM Sensitivity Module as well as several probes for quick verification of spark test function.
The STCAL is used to calibrate the voltage of High Frequency spark testers, most AC mains spark testers to 30kV, and DC spark testers to 40kV. A Windows-based tablet contains numerous spark test profiles that walk the operator through each calibration. A Calibration Certificate is generated for download, storage or printing.
The SM Sensitivity Module checks a spark testers fault detection sensitivity to current norms such as EN50356, IEC/CEI 62230 and NEMA specifications.
AC-SP, DC-SP and HF-SP Sensitivity Probes verify the integrity of the fault count circuitry in Clinton spark test systems.

Cable Fault Locators
Clinton now offers a new digital cable fault locator design that automates cable fault detection, greatly reducing the time and training required to find these problems. Opens, metallic shorts, or high voltage shorts between conductors or between conductor and shield are pinpointed quickly and with ease. The failure can then be cut out or repaired and the remaining good product salvaged, resulting in great savings to the producer.
The Model FL-20A is a tabletop mains-powered cable fault locator that can work to 20KV. The Model FL-8A works to 8KV DC and runs on a rechargeable battery. It is suitable for field testing of marine and ROV cables and is packaged in a case designed for a rugged environment. Both units feature a color touch screen and automated test sequences for finding shorts, opens, and metallic shorts.
