Continuous Rotary Extrusion ASCON

With the ASCON series, ASMAG offers machines for continuous rotary extrusion (CRE for short) of non-ferrous metals: The CRE process converts the feedstock - for example wire rod - into a pliable state using friction. The required temperatures and the pressure for a continuous rotary extrusion through the die are produced by friction forces applied to the material through friction wheel rotation.

Due to the simple and rapid set-up process when changing dimensions, small batches can be economically produced. Further advantages: Continuous operation, product flexibility, high product quality, few process steps and, therefore, lower investment and operating costs combined with higher productivity.

Run-out System for Underwater Extrusion

ASMAG offers an extensive machine portfolio of underwater run-out systems to extrusion presses, especially for copper and copper alloys. ASMAG has developed a special intensive quenching unit for fine-grained structures. Due to the optimal interplay of intensive cooling with a powerful puller, the extruded products are almost completely straight.

Furthermore, ASMAG also offers combined run-out systems for both underwater and dry extrusion. The advantage is that both copper and brass products can be manufactured on one single extrusion press.

Run-out System for Dry Extrusion

In comparison to copper products, brass is dry-extruded. ASMAG offers the appropriate run-out systems for dry extrusion for brass and brass alloy products. The solid structure of the high-precision ASMAG run-out systems, in combination with a sophisticated control system, ensure perfect product quality.

Gentle and protective handling of the product during the cooling process is essential for ensuring the best quality of extruded products. Depending on the product range, you can choose from a multitude of run-out devices, such as run-out roller tables, pullers and apron conveyors and a variety of cooling table designs. ASMAG has developed a special cooling device for the production of special brass tubes.
