On October 26th, 1981, Combustibles Nucleares Argentinos S.A. (CONUAR S.A.) was organized as an initiative of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) and in partnership with Perez Companc Group (33% and 67%, respectively). CONUARs nuclear fuel element factory was officially opened on April 2nd, 1982.
CNEA is responsible for the development of scientific knowledge and advanced production processes and Perez Companc Group is responsible for the industrialization and production management. CNEA and Perez Companc Group formed a partnership that has achieved the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
The company has four business units: Nuclear Fuels (CONUAR – EC), Special Materials and Services (SM&S – Parts and Material Manufacturing and SM&S – Field Works and Services) and Special Alloy Tubes (FAE).
