ACS Aluminium Clad Steel
The covered aluminum steel wire for compression, internationally known as Alumoweld or ACS, is a wire of high resistance whose cover is carried through an extrusion process, that adheres the aluminum by pressure and heat.
Once the covering process is finished, the wire is drawn until its final diameter without any alteration in the aluminum steel ratio.

TREFINASA produces all the range of aluminum overhead conductor according to international standards or under customer specification. Production range includes aluminum-steel conductors (ACSR) and all aluminum conductors including aluminum alloy.

TREFINASA is a company created in 1.999 with the first objective of manufacturing aluminium clad steel wire by the continuous extrusion process. These wires are used in electrical industry, more concretely in manufacturing optical ground wire (OPGW) and conductor cores destined to electrical lines for energy distribution and transport.
TREFINASA, using the same continuous extrusion process, diversified its product range to extruded aluminum products; aluminum tube with optical fiber inside for OPGW, tubes, flat and round wires and others profiles. These products are applied in automotive, refrigeration, gas cooker industries and as a part of enameled and insulated conductors.
In 2006 TREFINASA started manufacturing low sag conductors. These conductors are able to transmit more electrical current than their equivalent conductor, keeping safety clearances.
Finally, in 2016 after many years related to the electrical market and based on its large experience in Low Sag Conductors, TREFINASA started manufacturing standard overhead conductors.
TREFINASA supplies to most important European OPGW and ACSR manufacturers, as well as to different electrical companies and appliance companies.
The quality system of TREFINASA are certified by ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
The products of TREFINASA are certified by AENOR certificates.
